Educational Principles of the Department of Business Administration 

Admission Policy

The Department of the Business Administration prepares its students:

(1) to become effective business persons and people working in industrial fields with rich and cultivated personalities.

(2) to be able to demonstrate the ability to cope with the issues relating to information technology or globalization which today's business world is facing as well as those our regional communities are confronting.


In order to achieve these goals, we welcome students with aspirations and motivations described below:

(1) students who fully understand educational contents taught in high schools, have willingly engaged in their extracurricular activities such as athletic or cultural clubs, student councils or volunteer activities in their communities, have worked hard to acquire professional qualifications, and are highly motivated to achieve their goals through the programs our university offers.

(2) students who have professional interests in business administration, are sensitive to economic situations surrounding the local communities and are willing to make necessary efforts to gain deeper understanding of such issues.

(3) students who aim to embrace specialized knowledge and skills of business administration and its related disciplines so that they will be able to take active parts in the fields of business and industry as well as in the local communities.

Curriculum Policy

The Department of the Business Administration aims to prepare students according to the goals and guidelines described in the Diploma Policy. In achieving the educational goals of the department, the first-year introductory course is placed in the initial part of the curriculum to enrich cultivation and develop basic qualifications and abilities required to become active and effective business persons, which is followed by the core part of the curriculum with subjects related to specific professional qualifications, active-learning-oriented subjects and subjects related to career development. The final part of the curriculum includes specialized seminars and graduation theses, through which students are expected to learn how to accommodate to ever-changing situations in economy as well as in the society such as the issues related to information technology and globalization, and to cultivate comprehensive ability to find and solve problems based on open-mindedness towards a diversity of opinion and ability to make effective presentations.

Diploma Policy

The Department of the Business Administration confers a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. The diploma is offered to students who have completed the required courses and have developed knowledge and skills described below:

(1) have completed wide areas of liberal arts subjects as well as the required major subjects.

(2) have developed ability to discover problems and their solutions and provide the necessary information with high standards of business ethics.

(3) have developed effective communication skills and abilities to harmoniously work with others in coping with business issues.

(4) have demonstrated ability to make contributions to businesses and the local community by being able to adapt to ever-changing economic and social situations such as the development of information technology and globalization, and to make good decisions with proper perspectives in grasping the essence of the issues.
